EMDR/Parts Work Intensives
Please reach out to discuss pricing
Traditional therapy — and most insurance companies — follow a model of meeting for 55 minutes once every week or 2 weeks. That pace can lead to meaningful progress over time, but it often takes months. With EMDR intensives, we have the flexibility to go deeper, faster. Sessions are typically longer (around 2.5 hours), and we can meet more than once in a day or across several consecutive days. This concentrated format allows us to make more immediate and lasting progress without the stop-and-start of weekly sessions.
I am in-network with most Aetna, Cigna, & BCBS insurance plans. Please reach out to verify your information.
How I Help
-
In our work together, I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), a model that views ones psyche as a complex, rich, and interactive system.
The different parts of us are shaped by life experiences — some become confident, some are playful, and others may be harsh and extreme or carry fear and sadness. When something painful happens and isn’t fully processed, a part of us may hold on to that pain to keep us safe in the future. These parts can show up as anxiety, self-criticism, people-pleasing, or shutting down, especially when triggered by something in the present.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) helps you get to know these different parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion. Instead of pushing them away or judging them, we explore why they’re there and what they need. Often, we find that these parts are trying to help in the only way they know how — even if it doesn’t feel helpful now.
Through this process, your system starts to feel more balanced. Those overprotective or overwhelmed parts no longer have to work so hard, and the hurt parts get the care they needed all along.

Sometimes, the brain doesn’t fully process painful experiences especially if they feel overwhelming. When that happens those memories can get “stuck,” and your body remains alert for danger. Everyday things can unexpectedly trigger strong emotional reactions.
Using bilateral stimulation — eye movements from side to side or gentle tapping on alternating sides of your body — your brain is able to safely reprocess those stuck memories. You don’t have to go into detail or relive the experience. Your brain naturally knows how to create new neural pathways.
After EMDR, those memories usually feel less charged, like they’ve found their place back in the past. Clients often report feeling lighter, more self-compassionate, and less triggered in their day-to-day life.

Sometimes your body reacts before your mind even knows why. You shut down when overwhelmed or feel anxious even when nothing seems wrong. That’s not a flaw, that’s your nervous system doing its best to keep you safe.
Polyvagal theory helps us understand these automatic reactions. It explains how your body shifts into survival modes like fight, flight, fawn or freeze based on past experiences. In therapy, we work gently with your nervous system to help it feel safer and more regulated.
This might mean slowing down, noticing how your body responds to certain thoughts or memories, and building tools for calming your system in real time. When your body feels safe, it becomes easier to access and heal emotional pain.
You don’t have to “think” your way out of anxiety or trauma. Your body plays a huge role in healing, and we honor that every step of the way.
